 The Butterfly Effect
Most of us have heard the saying "what goes around comes around." It’s a common expression – a playground comeback we would encourage ourselves with when we felt mistreated by others. While the phrase can be quickly dismissed as a childhood idiom with no power, we as believers can quickly identify in it the scriptural principles of sowing and reaping. We faithfully tithe, and give of our time, energy and resources, holding firm to the biblical principle that what a man sows, of that he shall also reap.
Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure you mete, withal it shall be measured to you again. —Luke 6:38
Most of us are excited to attach that principle to the good things we sow, but aren’t so quick to attribute its impact to the negative things. Bad attitudes, doubts, unforgivingness and bitterness are all things that also reap an unfortunate harvest when sown. Thankfully, we do serve a merciful and gracious God who is "rich in mercy" and "quick to forgive" us when we own up to our faults. As believers we are blessed to have an awesome source of correction, forgiveness and restoration.
Furthermore, we also understand that all of God’s principles are interwoven within the very foundations of the earth. Even nature itself abides and obeys the principles of its Creator..... download complete article
